A joiner from Angoy’s Avenue, was pulled from the Canje Creek on Tuesday morning after persons discovered his body floating near the Tucberg/New Amsterdam koker.
Denis Williamson, 19, of Levi dam, went missing on Sunday afternoon after he went swimming in the creek sometime around 1pm. According to reports, Williamson along with his three brothers, two cousins and some friends went for an afternoon swim at the popular “hangout spot” when he went missing and was presumed drowned.
The deceased’s great aunt Lillian Grant told Stabroek News that the family is puzzled about what happened at the creek; however, they understand that the group had been swimming near the ‘blacka’ when Williamson disappeared.
