Senior UN official visits

Assistant UN Secretary-General, Assistant Administrator and Director of the Regional Bureau for Latin America and the Caribbean, United Nations Development Programme, Jessica Faieta will today leave Guyana after a two-day visit. Faieta, an Ecuadoran, is no stranger to Guyana as she served here in 1991 as the Programme Officer of the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme. She later served in many other countries with the UN and was appointed to her present position in May of this year Last evening a reception was held in her honour at the Cara Lodge Georgetown.
