Lewis places Jamaica in driver’s seat with 10-wicket haul

Jamaica skipper Ramaal Lewis’s 10-wicket haul placed his team in the driver’s seat against opponents Barbados yesterday heading into the final day today, of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) Regional U19 three-day tournament being played at the Everest ground.

The West Indies Under-19 spinner bowled aggressively and was rewarded with figures of 5-75 to accompany his first innings bag of 5-47, while right arm seamer Odean Smith snared an impressive 4-44 to help bowl out the Bajans for 211.

Barbados’ Jafari Toppin played smartly for his top score of 46 which featured five fours and one six. He shared a 52-run, fourth-wicket partnership with Akil Greenidge who struck six crisp fours in his knock of 39. Shamar Springer (23), Matthew Jones (34) and Nicholas Kirton (20) all made starts but failed to carry on.
