Technician to compensate customer after misplacing charger

A computer technician yesterday found himself before a city court after being accused of converting a laptop charger belonging to his customer to his own use.

Shawn Singh, 38, who said he misplaced the charger, was yesterday given until next Wednesday to compensate and return a new charger to the virtual complainant Troy Braithwaite after both men reached an understanding.

The allegation against Singh, of Lot 3 D’Urban Street, Wortmanville, is that between May and July 22, at Georgetown, being solely entrusted by Braithwaite with a Toshiba laptop charger, valued $10,324, to effect repairs and return same, he fraudulently converted it to his own use.

Singh pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry,
