Guyana reach 228-5 against T/dad in final round encounter

Boosted by half centuries from West Indies Under-19 players Shimron Hetmyer and Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Guyana ended in the comfortable position of 228-5 against Trinidad and Tobago in its decisive final round match of the West Indies Cricket Board Regional (WICB) Under-19 tournament yesterday at the Georgetown Cricket Club ground, Bourda.

Hetmyer struck 63 from 80 balls while Chanderpaul scored a patient, unbeaten innings of 79 from 289 deliveries.

Hetmyer batted aggressively dominating an 88-run, opening partnership between himself and Chanderpaul, who was content to play the supporting role.
