This morning members of the government’s “Clean-Up My Country” Programme Implementation Committee met with a community representative from the Stevedore Housing Scheme to inspect the areas where work is required as outlined in the community’s proposal for cleanup activities.

A release from the committee today said that after the North Ruimveldt Community Consultation held in 26th July, 2014 at Polly’s Nursery School, residents of Stevedore pooled their concerns as it relates to their environment, and submitted a proposal to the Programme Implementation Committee outlining several neighbourhood drains and canals to be de-silted and alleyways to be de-bushed.

After the community walk about, the proposal will now be evaluated.
