$2b for protected areas

The Government of Guyana today announced that the country will contribute approximately US$10 million (G$2B) in mining revenues to the National Protected Areas Trust Fund, a release from the Ministry of Natural Resources said. The announcement was made at a meeting of the fund.
Members of the Board of Trustees of the fund are Joseph Singh, Major General (rtd), Government of Guyana, Maurice Munroe, Government of Guyana, Annette Arjoon, Private Sector Commission, Joycelyn Williams, University of Guyana, Daniel Aguilar, National Toshaos Council and Dr. David Singh, Major Donors acting collectively.
