Conduct of Chinese companies here discussed by Granger with Beijing envoy

Leader of the Opposition David Granger was yesterday paid a courtesy call by China’s Ambassador to Guyana and among the topics discussed was the conduct of Chinese companies operating here.

In recent weeks there has been intense scrutiny of the conduct of Chinese logging company Baishanlin. Chinese investments and involvement here in the Marriott Hotel, the Cheddi Jagan International Airport expansion project and the Amaila Falls hydro project have also routinely come under critical examination by the opposition and other stakeholders.
