Following recent actions by the Minibus Associations, to charge higher fares and threaten strike action, the Ministry of Public Works implemented big buses to transport persons from certain congested areas free of cost.
Today, the Government decided to discontinue the free bus service so as to not intervene in the livelihood of the bus operators, GINA stated. It also said that Minister of Commerce Irfaan Ali ( at centre in red) met with several minibus associations.
