Baker remanded over ganja possession

A baker accused of being found with over 15 grammes of cannabis in the crotch of his pants was yesterday remanded to prison, while a man who lives with him was fined and ordered to do community service after admitting to having a smaller quantity of the drug.

Appearing before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry was La Penitence resident Doodnauth Beharry, 29, who denied that on October 1 at his lot 195 Middle Road, La Penitence home he had 15.9 grammes of cannabis in his possession for the purpose of trafficking.
