APNU in local gov’t polls protest

A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) continued its demand yesterday for President Donald Ramotar to name a date for the holding of local government elections. A contingent of protesters headed by the Leader of the Opposition, David Granger, yesterday morning picketed outside of the Office of the President. A release from APNU called on the President to issue the ‘commencement order’ to operationalise the Local Government Commission, the release reiterated.
