Junior National sprinter Kevin Abbensetts performances were not enough to prevent Queen’s College and St John’s College from topping Zone 1 and 2 in yesterday’s track events in the 2014 Inter-School Sports held at the Eve Leary ground.

The two respective zone winners managed to finish on a high after a collective effort from their athletes who ensured that they completed all their races and produced worthy results, despite not having big names such as Abbensetts and others in their camp.

The Inter Guiana games double gold medallist outsprinted his competitors in the Males Under-20 200 and 400m races but turned out to be mere personal feats as it failed to land his school in a good position after the academy managed to muster240 points placing fourth in Zone 1 as Queen’s College (361) and St John College (377) sat on top of the two
