Blue CAPS held a handing over ceremony at its Headquarters on Mundy Street, North Cummingsburg for the winners of its “Local Government Elections Essay Contest” on Friday October 10, 2014.
The winners were: first place Mario Joseph (fourth from right in photo) second place Raeanna Clarke and third place Karishma Misir.
The Essay Contest, a release from Blue CAPS said, was launched on August 12 to coincide with the United Nations’ (UN) International Youth Day and was held under the theme “Why are Local Government Elections needed in Guyana?” The contest was opened to all young Guyanese 26 and under.
Blue CAPS is a non-profit organization focused on expanding youth leadership and serving as a platform for their voices to be heard on important public policy matters.
