Williams nets double as GFC brush aside Beacons

Georgetown Football Club (GFC) brushed aside cellar occupants Beacons 4-0 when the second round of the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Stag Beer first division league continued yesterday at the Tucville ground.

Jamaal Williams was the principal scorer for the Bourda side as he registered a double in the 45th+1 and 65th minutes. He was supported by Keiron Solomon and Lynden Dorway who netted in the 64th and 65th minutes respectively.

Due to the win, GFC moves to 13 points and fifth position while Beacons remain on three points at the bottom of the league.

Under the tutelage of Vurlon Mills and Faizal Khan, the Bourda unit featuring mostly under 18 players took the lead through a Solomon penalty kick to the right hand corner, after being given another chance following a Beacon player entering the area before the ball was struck.
