Safe at GoodWood Racing torched open, $2.1M stolen

The repaired ceiling through which the burglars entered the office to blow-torch the safe.

Three partially masked men broke into GoodWood Racing Service early Saturday morning and carted off $2.1 million and a laptop.

The robbers apparently had intimate knowledge of the security arrangements for the building and avoided the lower flat, which was outfitted with a camera, by creating an opening through the floor directly under the office where the stolen articles were housed.
