Guyanese girl tops region at CSEC

Guyana has once again secured the regional award for top performance at the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations in the person of Elisa Hamilton, who also topped the country.

A Ministry of Education press release issued yesterday said Hamilton, of Queen’s College (QC) won the award for Most Outstanding Candidate in the region. Aliyyah Abdul Kadir and Ryhan Chand, also of QC, took top regional awards for Most Outstanding in Humanities and Most Outstanding in Business Studies respectively. Kishan Crichlow of the New Amsterdam Multilateral School was found to be the Most Outstanding Student in Technical Vocational studies, the release said.

The five students will travel to Jamaica in December where they will receive the awards on the 4th at a ceremony billed for the University
