Lithuania appoints first ambassador to CARICOM

The Baltic state of Lithuania has appointed Raimonda Murmokaite as its first ambassador to CARICOM since its breakaway from the former Soviet Union 24 years ago.

According to a CARICOM press release, the accreditation took place on November 17. In welcoming the Ambassador, Deputy Secretary General of CARICOM, Ambassador Manorma Soeknandan, said it was an honour.
