Former title holders Leopold Street sealed their spot in the knockout round, edging South Sophia 1-0 in a must-win final group fixture when the Guinness Greatest of the Streets Georgetown leg continued yesterday at the National Cultural Centre Tarmac.
Okeene Fraser netted the game’s only goal in the third minute as his right-sided corner kick took a deflection off the leg of the final defender and rolled into the left-hand corner of the net. With the win, Leopold Street move to six points from three games.
South Sophia for their showing finish the group stage on three points from as many matches.
