TRUE ANGELS! The victorious Trophy Stall Angels team and supporters which defeated Mike’s Wellwoman to win the female competition of the GFSCA three category tournament which ended on Saturday night at the DCC ground, Queenstown.

Skipper June Ogle-Thomas played a captain’s knock on Saturday to steer her side Trophy Stall Angels to an eight wicket win over Mike’s Wellwoman in the female final of the Guyana Floodlights Softball Cricket Association, Trophy Stall sponsored three category competition at the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) ground, Queenstown. Batting first, Mike’s Wellwoman limped to 73-6 off their allotted 10 overs. Latoya Smith top-scored with 24 while Heema Singh ended on 18 not out.

In reply, Ogle-Thomas scored an unbeaten 48 as Trophy Stall Angels reached 74-2 to win comfortably by eight wickets.

Ogle-Thomas was named Player-of-the-Match.

Trophy Stall Angels captured the first prize of $50 000 while Mike’s Wellwoman received the runners-up prize of $25 000. Ogle-Thomas was also named best batswoman of the tournament while Kavita Yadram who scored 171 runs and took five wickets was named best all-rounder.
