DCC defeat GYO by innings and 274 runs inside one day

The Gandhi Youth Organisation (GYO) yesterday crumbled to the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) by an innings and 274 runs on day one of their scheduled two day match.

Brian Sattaur’s century, Paul Wintz’s 10-wicket match haul and Christopher Barnwell’s all-round effort, orchestrated the win as action in the Hadi’s World Inc. /Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) first division two-day competition continued yesterday at the DCC ground.

Sattaur smashed a whirlwind 189, Wintz took 10-55 and Barnwell scored 56 and claimed five wickets to propel DCC to a convincing victory. Discarded national wicket keeper/batsman Derwin Christian also contributed to his team’s win with 75.

GYO batted first after winning the toss and were restricted to 91 all out from 26.2 overs while DCC responded with 403-6 declared in 43 overs.
