Upstream oil and gas resources

The National Upstream Oil and Gas Policy was yesterday launched by the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment. A statement from the ministry said that it represents Guyana’s first attempt at setting out specific policy objectives and implementation measures for the exploration and potential development of upstream oil and gas resources in Guyana. The event was attended by Prime Minister Samuel Hinds, Minister of Natural Resources and the Environment, Robert Persaud, and representatives of the Commonwealth Secretariat, among other stakeholders.  It was held at Herdmanston Lodge, Peter Rose Street, Georgetown.
