A money-changer was yesterday morning shot and robbed by two men of $800,000 and is now a patient of the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH).
Police said in a statement that at about 10 minutes after midnight yesterday, Riburn Fraser, 48, of Manatee Place, South Ruimveldt, was about to enter his residence when he was attacked by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun. The man shot Fraser about his body and took away a total of $800,000 along with a quantity of foreign currency and documents from him and a female friend and escaped, the statement said.
