On Monday 2nd March, 2015 the Cheddi Jagan Research Centre presented a portrait of Dr. Cheddi Jagan to the Rose Hall Primary School and Port Mourant Primary School. A release from the Centre said that present at the handing over ceremony were sister of Dr. Jagan, Dr. Barbara Fries, Administrator of the Centre Indra Chandarpal, Regional Chairman David Armogan, Minister of Finance Dr. Ashni Singh, Dr. Vishwa Mahadeo and Ministry of Education and government officials.
Dr. Fries gave a brief background of the life of Dr. Jagan as a child growing up and attending these schools, the release said.
On Monday 9th March, 2015 the Centre also presented a portrait of Dr. Cheddi Jagan to Queen’s College. Present at this presentation were Chairman of the Management Committee Hydar Ally and niece of Dr. Jagan and Committee member Dr. Dionne Fries, Senior Mathematics teacher Dennis Patterson, Patrick Bernard and students.
