Youth remanded over East Coast burglary

A youth was remanded to prison yesterday after a court heard that he was caught on surveillance camera footage after he broke and entered an East Coast home.

At the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court, Magistrate Zamilla Ally heard that Kenard Madramootoo, 19, was apprehended as a result of the footage. Madramootoo was charged with breaking and entering the home of Sherwin Semple and stealing electronics. He was not required to plead to the charge when Magistrate Zamilla Ally read it to him.
