Diamond Housing Scheme ‘cocaine smoker’ remanded to prison on burglary charges

A Diamond Housing Scheme man who denied any knowledge of stealing items worth over half a million dollars because he was “smoking cocaine” was remanded to prison when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Inshan Ali, 32, of Diamond Housing Scheme, stood in the prisoners dock mumbling to himself as the charges were read to him. Ali is accused of breaking and entering the business place of Forbes Christian and stealing a generator valued at $40,000, and a tool kit valued at $45,000, between April 2 and April 3, 2015, on Croal Street.
