Jagdeo was absent when his case was called at the Whim Magistrate’s Court, but his team of four lawyers, including Adrian Anamayah and Mursaline Bacchus made representation.

They called for the case to be dismissed, stating that it was bad in law and should not be allowed since the complaint was not sworn nor read by a sitting magistrate. Attorney for the complainant requested time to prepare a rebuttal to the defendant’s submission. This request was granted by Magistrate Charlyn Artiga and the case was put down for May 25, 2015.

Attorney Christopher Ram has filed a private criminal charge against Jagdeo over controversial statements he made at a Babu John, Port Mourant event held by the PPP on March 8.
