On April 30, the Berbice Bridge Company Incorporated (BBCI) donated a washing machine and $50,000 to the Cancer Society, Berbice Chapter and the Rotary Club of New Amsterdam respectively.
According to a BBCI press release, the washing machine donated to the Cancer Society was towards its fund raising effort of a Mother and Child Pageant and that of the $50,000 to the Rotary Club of New Amsterdam for their fundraiser of Gymkhana event.
Ultimately, the proceeds had from both fundraisers will be used for the organisations’ services the releases said. In the case of the Rotary Club of New Amsterdam, the funding will be utilised for community service projects such as
