The Mayor and City Council (M&CC) has issued a call to the citizens to form self-help groups to clean up their respective communities for the upcoming Independence celebrations.
According to a press release from the M&CC, an appeal was sent out “to all citizens to organise themselves into groups and clean up their communities now for the independence celebrations.” The effort “should include cleaning of the parapets and frontages, cleaning of the surface drains and sprucing up of their immediate surroundings.” A short-term plan is being drafted, the release said, to do substantial works in all communities in the
