Reduced number of competitors for three-stage cycle road race

The tense political climate which prevailed in the aftermath of the general and regional elections has whittled the customary number of entrants for this year’s Independence Three-Stage cycle road race.

Scheduled to wheel off on Saturday, the 33rd edition of the longest tenured cycling event in Guyana has only attracted 30 registrants so far.

This is according to main organizer Hassan Mohamed who spoke with Stabroek Sport yesterday.
