Suspect held in West Dem taxi driver shooting death

A man was arrested yesterday in connection with the murder of taxi driver Dennis Narine who was shot twice in his chest during an attempted home invasion on May 31, Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum said.

According to reports, on the day in question, Narine, 26, of La Parfait Harmonie was awakened by noise at a window at his home. When he went to make checks, he was shot twice in the chest through the window. His wife and sons ran to the back room for safety. Narine reportedly died in his mother’s arms before he could be taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital for treatment.

His wife, Naomi Narine, was held after police started exploring another possible motive for
