The Patterson-Belles library

The Patterson-Belles library was opened on Saturday at the Pattensen Community Centre in B Field Sophia. The library was constructed and stocked through the efforts of the Georgetown Hub of the Global Shapers Community with assistance from the US Embassy, the Rotaract of UG, REDbandaid, Guyana Book Foundation, Gafoors and members of the Pattensen Community. It has been named after long time community advocates Carmen Patterson and Sybil Belles. The volunteers simultaneously launched the Pattensen Reading Programme as part of the pilot project in their Save The Libraries (STL) initiative.
