Scouts call on President Granger

A team from the Scout Association of Guyana (SAG) paid a courtesy call on President David Granger, ahead of their participation in the 23rd World Scout Jamboree in Japan later this month. The group, led by Chief Scout and President of the association Ramsay Ali met with the President at the Ministry of the Presidency on Friday last.

In brief remarks, President Granger urged the group to use the visit as a learning opportunity, not only for self improvement but for the eventual development of Guyana. “Scouting is very important to the country, to you and the type of future you will have; so I think this is a good opportunity to travel out of Guyana and to see how people in other countries live,” he said, according to a release from the Scout Association of Guyana.
