National U-19 champion Nyron Joseph suffered his first defeat at the 33rd Junior Caribbean Area Squash Association (CASA) championships going down to arch rival Trinidad’s Nku Patrick 3-2 when the singles part of the tournament continued in Barbados yesterday.
Joseph, one of Guyana’s best hopes for a medal in the boys U19 singles had earlier in the day defeated Kion Knights of Bermuda 11-2, 11-5, 11-3 but in a key fixture among two of the favourites for the division, was edged 3-2 in a five set thriller losing to the Trinidad
