A monumental rivalry will be renewed and a highly-anticipated showdown will be on display when the fifth annual Digicel Secondary Schools football championships continue today with the semi-final round at the Leonora Sports Facility, West Demerara.
While the matchup between Annai Secondary and Chase Academy will be one for the purists and pundits at 16:00hrs, the Waramadong Secondary and Christianburg/Wismar Secondary (CWS) affair from 18.00 hrs is expected to steal the show due to their storied past.
The Linden juggernauts are the defending three-time national champions, all at the expense of their fiercest rival who are themselves three-time losing finalists. The matchup in itself signifies that the event finale will feature one inaugural team from the other resulting skirmish, a first in the last three years.
