Government makes donation to ACDA: The Government of Guyana yesterday handed over a $2 million cheque to the African Cultural and Development Associa-tion (ACDA) to support the organisation’s annual Emancipation month activities. According to a statement issued by the Ministry of the Presidency, the donation is timely as ACDA prepares to host this year’s Emancipation celebrations. Minister of State Joseph Harmon handed over the cheque to ACDA volunteer Gail Napoleon on behalf of the government. He also congratulated ACDA on the work the association has been doing. The Ministry added that the donation brings government’s financial assistance to ACDA so far to $5 million, after $3 million was previously handed over. (Ministry of the Presidency photo)
