Sunshine Girls clobber Scotland in Netball to finish second in Pool B

SYDNEY, Australia, CMC – Jamaica’s Sunshine Girls rebounded from Saturday’s loss to England to crush Scotland 71-24, and record their second win of the Netball World Cup here yesterday.

The Caribbean side sprinted to a 36-10 half-time lead to take the Scottish completely out the contest, and then coasted at the back end to finish second in Pool B on four points behind unbeaten England on six.

Jamaica were propelled by goal shooter Jhaniele Fowler-Reid who shot 59 goals from 62 attempts while goal attack Anna Kay Griffiths supported with 12 from 14 attempts.

No one reached double figures for Scotland with goal attack Joanne Pettitt managing nine from 15 attempts.

Vice-captain Paula Thompson was quick to praise Fowler-Reid’s performance.
