An alleged goat thief who was nursing a gunshot wound under police guard at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) Male Surgical Ward, escaped yesterday.
According to reports, Rawle Braithwaite escaped sometime after lunch yesterday by jumping through the second-storey window of the ward to the hospital grounds and then running up to Lamaha and East streets, where he disappeared among the traffic.
Stabroek News had previously reported that 19-year-old Braithwaite was shot to his buttocks on Wednesday
