‘Little Kenyan’ Forde places second to Kenyan in T/dad 5Km

Cleveland Forde continues to make strides on the international circuit.

Yesterday in Couva, South Trinidad, the ‘Little Kenyan’ placed second in the Venture Credit Unit 5Km event which was won by Kenneth Rotich of Kenya.

Forde who won the Massy Group of Companies 10km event last Sunday, finished the fixture in 14 minutes and 57 seconds while Rotich took the first podium spot in 14m: 24s.

Cuban, Livan Reyes (15m: 03s), St Vincent’s Pamenos Ballantyne (15m: 36s) and TT based Guyanese, Kelvin Johnson (15m: 39s) rounded out the top five.

Speaking with this publication yesterday, Guyana’s premier distance athlete stated that “even though I didn’t win, I felt relaxed and I am satisfied about the time I ran.”

Forde’s next outing will be the lucrative Court’s 10km race on Sunday.
