Den Amstel were crowned the Sydroy Nedd Memorial 60th birth anniversary 7-a-side Inter-Ward football champs after crushing Grove Thursday in the grand finale at the Dem Amstel ground, West Demerara.
The home side walked away with the inaugural title and the $100,000 first prize after dismantling Grove by a 5-0 score line under lights. Grove, for their efforts, captured the second place accolade and $50,000. In the third place playoff, Pouderoyen defeated Goed Fortuin by a 1-0 score line to clinch the respective trophy and $30,000.
