Gov’t to look towards more structured research approach for rice

The APNU+AFC Administration will organise its research efforts to better serve rice farmers and other stakeholders in the agriculture industry, GINA reported today.

Agriculture Minister Noel Holder told this to the gathering at the Guyana Rice Development Board’s (GRDB) Rice Research Station Exhibition today at Burma, Region Five of this development. Holder explained that new technologies have aided farmers to experience higher yields, and that new varieties have already accounted for more than 60 percent of total cultivation.
