Catherine Rose, the elderly woman who was caught trying to smuggle over eight kilogrammes of cocaine and marijuana out of the country over the weekend, was yesterday sentenced to four years in jail after admitting to the crime.
Rose pleaded guilty before Magistrate Zamilla Ally, who handed down the four-year sentence and a $30,000 fine to the woman at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court.
