Bundled out for a paltry 88 off 19.5 overs, West Indies Women capitalized on a rain break which saw Pakistan Women’s target adjusted to 78 off 17 overs, and hit back to restrict the visitors to 77 for seven at the National Stadium to leave scores tied.

In the all-important super over, seamer Deandra Dottin snatched two wickets as Pakistan Women scraped together just three runs and West Indies Women survived the loss of Dottin off the first ball, to reach their target off the last ball of the over when Kyshona Knight struck a boundary.

Sent in, West Indies Women were 63 for four in the 14th over but lost their last six wickets for 25 runs to be dismissed for under 100.

Opener Kycia Knight held the innings together with a fine knock of 49 off 48 balls with three fours before she was sixth out with the score on 76 in the 17th over.

She was the only player to reach double figures as captain Sana Mir ripped through the innings with her off-spin to claim four for 14 while left-arm spinner Anam Amin supported with two for ten.

In reply, Pakistan Women were held up by rain after they had reached seven for one in the fourth over.

With an adjusted target on resumption, Pakistan lost Nain Abidi (3) and Ayesha Zafar (5) cheaply to slide to 18 for three in the sixth over as West Indies Women took control.

However, Bismah Maroof top-scored with 30 off 37 deliveries and captain Sana Mir supported with 22 from 24 balls, in a 39-run fourth wicket stand to bring their side back into the contest.

Bismah was bowled by off-spinner Anisa Mohammed in the 14th but Nidar Dar scored a precious 11 off 12 balls in a 19-run, fifth wicket partnership with Mir that left Pakistan Women with eight runs to get off the last over.

In a dramatic final over, Mir scrambled a single off the first ball of the over from Dottin and Dar slammed a boundary off the second to put their side on the brink of victory with just three runs required from four balls.

But Dottin showed her character, keeping Dar scoreless of the next delivery before having her caught and bowled off the fourth.

Sana Mir was run out off the fifth delivery and Sania Khan followed, also via the run out route, off the final ball of the over, as West Indies Women tied the game.
