Accused in pavilion death cleared

Morris Kowlessar, called “Little,” yesterday walked out the High Court a free man, after a 12-member jury found him not guilty of murdering Ganesh Rattan, also known as “Jukka.”

The charge against Kowlessar is that on March 18, 2012, at Strathavon Pavilion, Cane Grove, East Coast Demerara, he murdered Rattan. It was the state’s case that on March 18, the two had an altercation, in which Kowlessar pushed Rattan off a pavilion.
