Jailed for stealing daughter’s jewellery

An East La Penitence man was yesterday sentenced to the next six months in jail after he admitted to stealing his daughter’s jewellery in order to clear a debt.

Richard Binns, 50, pleaded guilty to a charge of simple larceny when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, who handed down the sentence afterward in Georgetown.
