Wi-Fi rollout in schools underway

The government has revealed that the E-Government Unit has begun rolling out Wi- Fi networks in schools, with the hinterland and remote areas projected to benefit from internet access by the end of the first quarter of 2016.

A Ministry of the Presidency release yesterday reported that E-Government Advisor, Floyd Levi, said that currently the Unit is focussing on facilitating the implementation of the infrastructural networks, which includes the transmission and the data networks and the setting up of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Hubs and Access Points across the country by next year end.

The Wi-Fi project was launched at
