Nineteen Timehri North residents to be relocated for runway extension

Minister of Public Infrastructure, David Patterson, yesterday met with residents of Timehri North for discussions on the community and the planned Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA), Timehri expansion, a release from his ministry said.

As part of the extension of CJIA’s runway, 19 homes in Timehri North will be relocated since they are in the direct path of the proposed site.

Patterson yesterday held two meetings with residents of the community. In the first meeting, the release said that Patterson met with those residents directly affected by the airport expansion while, in the second meeting, he met with the general Timehri North community.
