NAPS honours staff working in hinterland regions

The Ministry of Public Health’s National AIDS Programme Secretariat (NAPS) last evening hosted its annual appreciation ceremony for outstanding hinterland staff, GINA said.

The ceremony which was held at the Regency Hotel, Hadfield Street saw 10 awards being presented to outstanding health care practitioners in the area of provision of HIV/AIDS care in the hinterland regions.

The awardees were Lorraine Gilkes, Lolita Rebeiro, Juliet Willie, Winston Williams, Henry Lenski, and Leola Barnes all of whom are Medex; nurses, Sharon Rudie and Dawn Dunn, and Natasha Torres.  An award was also presented on behalf of Zenita Nicholson, a rights activist of the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender organisation, who recently ended her own life.
