Departure lounge renamed for Dwayne Jacobs: Trans Guyana Airways on Friday renamed its departure lounge in memory of cargo handler Dwayne Jacobs, who lost his life in January 2014 when a Trans Guyana Cessna 208B Grand Caravan aircraft he was working on crashed. A report by the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority said that the plane developed engine failure shortly after takeoff from Olive Creek to Imbaimadai, on a shuttle drop. Canadian pilot Captain Blake Slater also lost his life in that accident.
