UG spreads Christmas cheer to Sophia children

The Public Relations Division, University of Guyana (UG), recently brought Christmas cheer to 50 nursery and primary school children from the Sophia community, a release from UG said. The annual Santa’s Helpers party was held in the Education Lecture Theatre, Turkeyen campus.

At the party, the children were given gifts which were bought for them by staff and students of UG, who selected their names from the Christmas tree at the launch at the event in November. Each family also received a small food hamper.

Lecturer in the Faculty of Education and Humanities Dr Mark Tumbridge entertained the group with some magic tricks.

The Public Relations Divisions of UG thanked faculty, staff, and students of UG, and the management of The Spicy Dish, Church’s Chicken and the UG Canteen, for their generosity at the event.
