Trucking service owner remanded on murder charge

Magistrate Charlyn Artiga yesterday remanded the 26-year-old owner of a Corentyne trucking service when he appeared in the No. 51 Village Magistrate’s Court charged with murder.

According to the facts of the case, on Monday, March 16th, at Port Mourant, Corentyne, Berbice, Romel ‘Junior’ Sanichar of Letter Kenny Village, murdered Karamchan ‘Gango’ Jageshar, a 41-year-old father of four. The unrepresented man who is also cattle farmer, was not required to plead to the indictable charge. He was remanded to prison until April 13th when he was ordered to appear in the Whim Magistrate’s court.
